Accommodation

While the conference organizers can not provide accommodation for the conference participants, there are several options for a stay-over in Helsinki.

Budget options

If you wish to stay in a hostel, please contact them directly. You can find more information on different hostels in Helsinki region at www.hostelworld.com. For example, rates for Hostel Stadion start at around 20 euros in the dormitory and Euro Hostel from 40 euros per single room.

For students participans, there is a free option of “home housing” organized by the Student Organisation of Development Studies at the University of Helsinki (KEHO Ry). Unfortunately, the number of home placements is limited and some students will probably have to find an accommodation at their own expense. The accommodation will be confirmed to each student later on via email. If you are interested in this option, please contact Antti Tarvainen (antti.tarvainen[at]helsinki.fi).

Mid- and upper range options

Helsinki city centre has a wide range of options at your disposal. We suggest that you book hotel via Booking.com or directly from the hotel. By clicking here you find the nearest hotels from the conference venue at Helsinki university.
