T\u00e4n\u00e4 vuonna haluamme nostaa esille taiteen avaamia mahdollisuuksia kehityskysymysten ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4miseksi ja erilaisten teemojen esille nostamiseksi. Niinp\u00e4 Kes\u00e4p\u00e4iv\u00e4n otsikoksi onkin valittu:<\/p>\n

TAITEEN JA KEHITYSTUTKIMUKSEN RAJAPINNOILLA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Olemme kutsuneet tilaisuuteen kolme taiteen ja kehitystutkimuksen rajapinnoilla toimivaa tutkijaa. Kukka Ranta<\/strong> on asumis- ja maaoikeusliikkeit\u00e4 tutkiva Helsingin yliopiston tohtorikoulutettava, journalisti ja valokuvaaja, jonka kuvia l\u00f6ytyy my\u00f6s alkuvuonna ilmestyneest\u00e4 Kehityksen tutkimus \u2013teoksesta.Antti Erkkil\u00e4<\/strong> on It\u00e4-Suomen yliopistossa ty\u00f6skentelev\u00e4 mets\u00e4tieteiden tohtori, joka on ollut asiantuntijana mukana mm. Namibian sis\u00e4ist\u00e4 muuttoliikett\u00e4 k\u00e4sittelev\u00e4n Home of Heart \u2013dokumenttielokuvan ty\u00f6ryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4. Riikka Bado<\/strong> puolestaan on teatterin ammattilainen, joka k\u00e4sittelee ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n mm. puuvillakauppaan liittyvi\u00e4 kysymyksi\u00e4. Tule kuulemaan, mit\u00e4 taide ja kehitystutkimus voivat heid\u00e4n mielest\u00e4\u00e4n antaa toisilleen ja mik\u00e4 on se yleis\u00f6, jolle he ty\u00f6ll\u00e4\u00e4n kommunikoivat.
\nToivomme, ett\u00e4 tilaisuus auttaa meit\u00e4 kaikkia tarkastelemaan my\u00f6s omaa tutkimusty\u00f6t\u00e4mme uusin silmin ja pohtimaan tutkimuksen ja taiteen v\u00e4lisen vuorovaikuksen mahdollisuuksia ty\u00f6ss\u00e4mme.<\/p>\n

You are warmly welcome to the traditional Development Research Summer Day! This year we want to highlight the role of art in understanding development, and in bringing forward development-related themes. Thus, the theme of the Summer Day is<\/p>\n

AT THE INTERFACE BETWEEN ARTS AND DEVELOPMENT<\/strong><\/div>\n
Tuesday 17th of May, 16:00 at Tieteiden talo (Kirkkokatu 6), Sali 505.<\/strong><\/div>\n

We will be joined by three artist-researchers – Riikka Bado<\/strong>, independent theater artist and researcher; Antti Erkkil\u00e4<\/strong>, Doctor of Science and Forestry, Researcher at University of Eastern Finland and field specialist for the documentary movie Home of Heart; and Kukka Ranta<\/strong>, investigative journalist and photographer \u2013 who will discuss development relevant themes through arts. They will share their insights and experiences with their own work located at the interface between arts and development. Come and hear their thoughts on what art can provide for development research, and on the audience they communicate with through their work. We hope the event will also inspire all of us to see our own research in a new light, and to think about the possibilities of combining research and arts in our work.<\/p>\n

You are cordially invited to some wine & snacks at the traditional Summer Day get-together and chat following the event.<\/p>\n
