As part of the pre-conference programme for the Development Days Conference 2026, we offer engaging events designed for master’s students and doctoral researchers (Master’s Workshop and DevDays DocShop), as well as a Public Forum open to all attendees.

Master’s Workshop 2026: Navigating the Road to Completion

The Finnish Society for Development Research (FSDR) and Finnish University Partnerships for International Development (UniPID) warmly welcome master’s students to a Master’s thesis workshop organised as part of the Development Days Conference 2026.

Development Days DocShop 2026: “Beyond Academia: Doing Development Research in Different Fields”

The Finnish Society for Development Research (FSDR), together with the Finnish University Partnership for International Development (UniPID) and the Doctoral Programme of Political, Societal and Regional Changes (PSRC) at the University of Helsinki, warmly welcomes all interested participants to join the DevDays DocShop 2026 to reflect on possibilities for doing development research beyond academia.

Public Forum: “Whose Future? Global Visions in a Contested World”

Date: Wednesday 25 February 2026
Time: 17.00–19.00 | Location: Think Corner

The Public Forum will feature the DevDays2026 keynote speakers (Walden Bello, Robtel Neajai Pailey, and Alfredo Saad-Filho). Co-organized by Global Visions and the Finnish Society for Development Research, the event is free and open to the public. The discussion will be filmed and available via livestream and on the Global Visions YouTube channel.
